For example if White Balance was a new topic for you be sure to:

• Pick a colorful subject that has some neutral shades in it as well
• shoot a wide and and tight shot with ALL of the White Balance settings
• Set a custom white balance of the subject and shoot that too.
• Use the Custom temperature settings and shoot the extremes
